Sexual Exposure Chart & STI's

Although we here at Sexy U are very pro - sex and love to share in ways to
make your sex life and relationship/s more fun and intimate we do believe that it's important to
teach ALL aspects of sex - not only the GOOD, but the BAD & UGLY as well.

STI's are a very real and very serious issue and since people don't readily talk
about this topic and rarely admit if they ever had (or have) one, I
feel that it is my responsibility to show you the UGLY side.

Please do protect yourself and only have sex with those you know and trust, it is beneficial to
get tested for STD's periodically. It is so so simple, easy and free to get the Doctor to
take an extra swab during your routine PAP smear, it is something that I have always done.
They wont look at you weird, whenever I get a PAP I nonchalantly say,
"Hey, would you be able to throw in a STI test in while your'e down there?!"
They just do it and are happy you ask because it's the responsible thing to do.
(This may not be free in other Provinces or Countries but trust me - It's worth it!)
You can carry an STI for YEARS without a symptom, passing it around all the while.

Men, you are just as responsible to do this as us women too.

While doing a little research, I found this interesting chart to show you how easy it is to spread an STI
to a ton of people. Some people may think, oh I have only slept with 10 people in
my whole life - that's not much at all - But if those 10 people have each "ONLY" slept with 10
people each..... That is a whopping 1023 people that something could have been spread around!

Have a look at the chart and see what I mean.

Chart borrowed from WRMCSN.com, which is a wonderful Women's Resource website

Crazy huh?! I hope that all of you play it safe when you do play, and please do remember
that anything oil based (including lotions, massage oils, natural oils, etc)will eat through a condom causing it to break. You can only get pregnant a small portion out of a month but STI's are there
24/7/365 ready and willing at any time.

Don't ever hesitate to go get tested, you can always go to your family Doctor, any walk in medical clinic or Planned Parenthood if you are in the USA or OPT (Options for Sexual Health) in British Columbia.
The above websites are great for further education as well.

I  found a great chart as well showing the signs and symptoms of many STI's
for both men and women at Sex Info Online.
It is quite a large chart - too big to post on this page, so you will find it HERE
They've also got many other topics that are interesting and useful to read and you can even
take tests on your knowledge.

I hope that you play safe, now it's time for me to post about more FUN stuff!!

Back Door Lovin' - Properly!

I get asked almost daily about how to go about trying anal for the first time - actually....
usually it's some poor woman who has had a traumatizingly and painful  bad
experience in the past  with an uneducated ex boyfriend or boy toy!
Anal shouldn't be that way.

There are ways to make back door play feel great - the orgasms you can have
with a penis, plug or beads in the ass can be some of THE BEST orgasms ever - It just has
to be done properly that's all.
Same with for you men out there - You guys are the ones with a G Spot in your bums (well, similar anyways - men have the best orgasms in their asses, thanks to the prostate)
and there is no reason for you to fear it or to miss out on the pleasure it can bring.

Whether you are a man or a woman, these great tips will help you to be on your
way to leaving the fears behind!

First of all, make sure you have plenty of good lubricant on hand. Unlike your vagina, your ass has zero natural lubricant and it will be very uncomfortable for both parties involved. No, spit is not a lubricant!

For anal I do highly recommend a silicone based lube - It lasts longer, no need to reapply and it's not at all sticky. It really is amazing stuff. (you can use it as a massage oil too - THE best massage oil I might add....)
Never use oil based products - they not only break down your toys but condoms as well!

Silicone lube is condom safe but if you are using a silicone toy be sure to stick with water based lubricant only as silicone eats silicone (even if you have two silicone toys in the same drawer touching one will "eat" and break down the other). If you ARE using a silicone toy I recommend PINK water brand lubricant.
If it's all dick, I prefer PINK silicone brand lube (I like that they are glycerin & paraben free + they have aloe vera & vitamin E in them).

Please do stay away from the "anal numbing agents" - there are many products out there claiming to ease the discomfort of anal sex but the truth of the matter is - if it hurts, stop or slow down.
The tissues inside of the rectum are very thin and delicate and easy to tear - if anything happens you need to know. People sadly cause a lot of damage this way.

Boys, as much as you would like to just slide your dick in - please don't.

In all reality the ass needs to be warmed up. It's actually best after an orgasm because the muscles are so much more relaxed at that point (If all else fails - try AFTER she gets off).
Play around the outside while eating her out or during vaginal penetration and after a couple of minutes insert a (lubed up) finger - just to the first knuckle! See how she reacts.
Don't thrust your finger in & out - trust me, until the body is used to a foreign object, movement isn't great. Still, very slowly moving inward and stopping at the next knuckle. Just stay there while doing other things with other parts of her/your body.

If at any point of this you feel her ass clench - DO NOT MOVE. Dont pull out, dont keep moving - just hold still. It will relax in a moment (That is when uncomfy happens).

Now, slowly pull out and grab for an anal toy. You dont want to go straight to dick, even after the warm up. It needs to warm up MORE!
(If you dont have an anal toy, you can try two fingers since it is larger than the one you just had in there, but smaller than your dick. I highly recommend an anal toy though.)

I'm going to quickly go over the three main types of anal toys for a moment so that you can choose what is best for you.
It is important not to use a vaginal toy as you never want to go from ass to vagina -  the bacteria in the rectum is not something that the vagina nor the urethra welcomes - that is just asking for an infection.
Please keep anal toys for anal use only, wash your hands before moving up front after being in the back and wear a condom while having anal sex so that you can take it off or switch for a clean one before having vaginal intercourse.

Anal Beads:

First off - Anal beads are my favorite beginner - or anyone, anytime anal toy. There are a few reasons for this:
Choose a set of beads that start small and gradually increase in size. This is a great way to adjust your bum to having something inside it, rather than having to insert an entire plug all at once (slowly of course!), you are able to stop in between each bead to give your body a chance to adjust and you can continue on when you are ready. You can stop anywhere down the line you like and it will stay in.

Unlike contrary belief, anal beads are not for pulling out (you absolutely can if you want but that may be uncomfortable for a beginner), they are best enjoyed just sitting in there unmoving.
They are extremely pleasurable to have in while having sex, even more so for a man since the bumps will rub against the prostate - Get two sets - you each can wear some!
Another great tip for using anal beads - since the tissue is so thin between the ass & the vagina, while having vaginal intercourse he can feel the beads from the front! Quite pleasurable for both of you and really nice while masterbating alone as well.

After some fun with anal beads you may be ready for his penis or you may move to a slightly bigger toy first if you feel the need. The more gradual and non rushed the process, the more likely you will be successful.

Next up,

Butt Plugs:

There are many different shapes and even more sizes of butt plugs.
The one above is "Blush" brand and I like it because it has a hole at the bottom that fits a standard sized vibrating bullet if you so choose to add one.
Vibration does help to loosen the muscles in the area, so it is a good choice for beginners and the advanced alike.
Bullets to add range from $10 to over and above $100 for the high end, super powerful rechargables.

When shopping for a butt plug, it is important to look at the "lip" which is the part catches on to the inside of your bum to keep it from popping out. You want to make sure that the lip is well defined, a lot of "slim" style beginners plugs literally almost have no lip at all and it will only be annoying when you are trying to enjoy the moment and it keeps popping out! So do keep that in mind while shopping around for a plug, there are so many and it can be overwhelming but with this info you will be able to narrow it down like a pro ;)

Another important part is the base - a very important rule of thumb to keep in mind:
NO BASE, NO BUTT!
Please, do not use anything anally that does not have a good, solid base. (the round handle of the anal beads is fine - as long as there's something!) Asses have suction.... you do not want to get anything stuck in there! It is a bottomless pit. If something were to go sideways, well - you will avoid this with this knowledge and hopefully never find out!
Vaginally it's no problem, your cervix is closed and it's a dead end. Never worry there. Anally on the other hand is a whole different ball game. No base, no butt - remember it.

Butt plugs are great be used as foreplay before bum sex, after a plug a penis should be good to go as long as you aren't too eager. I know it's hard at this point of all this action waiting for what you're really trying to get at but slow is the key here.

Another fun way to use a butt plug besides both partners wearing them during intercourse, is to wear one in public under your clothing! Go out for dinner or on a hot date - you two knowing it's there, knowing this sexy secret is foreplay on it's own.

Last but not least, for men:

Prostate Massagers:

I chose the above photo because it shows exactly where the prostate is, along with one of the most popular shaped massagers out there.
The prostate is the male's equivalent to a female's G Spot. Men can have mind-blowing orgasms with their prostate alone - without even touching the penis and a hell of a lot stronger too.
It is really too bad that so many men have it engrained in their minds that the ass is "exit only" - men with this learned attitude are seriously missing out and for their sake I really hope they grow out of it! It's a whole 'nother world to explore together with your partner.

As you can see by the photo (similarly with the woman's G Spot), a toy that is curved is much more beneficial for a man than a straight one, pointed towards the front of the body to stimulate the prostate.

A lot of prostate massagers will have the hook or another part that rubs up against the perineum (or "taint") for more stimulation. Some vibrate, others don't - it is more of a preference thing, but do keep in mind that vibration does help to relax the muscles in the area.

For men, all of the above toys & warm ups work well before "pegging", which is when instead of a man having anal sex with a woman, a woman has anal sex with a man, using a strap on. I'm happy to see this becoming more and more popular all the time as people are starting to open up more and become more adventurous.

Now that we have worked the ass with toys and ready for a full penis or strap on, I'll go over some helpful tips to make the moment a success.

Remember, if there is any tensing up at any point to stop. Not pull out - I mean freeze until the tensing stops, it is quite uncomfortable when that happens and movement makes it worse.

Start with just the tip, once the tip is in, stop moving. Ask her how she's doing. This is not when to start thrusting, I know you wanna but if you want this to happen again with her eager to do it then take it slow (Unless of course she's asking for it!).
Slowly enter bit by bit, not thrusting, just pushing in further. Stop even twice more before you get fully in and ask her if she's okay with it. Once you are all the way in slowly move half way out, stop, then back in. Test the waters and see if you can start thrusting slowly. It wont take long now that her body is relaxed and used to you in there. This may be all she/he can handle for one night - if so, don't be disappointed - tell her how great she did and that together you will try again when she is ready.
For most it is a big step, for some it's no problem - some don't need as much of a warm up as this but really, most do at the beginning.
It's when this warm up doesn't occur and a penis painfully rams in there that she will never want to try again. Unfortunately so many women are traumatized by rough exes that don't properly know what to do. That is their only experience and they hated it. Show her how good it can be by doing it properly and slowly and you wont have a problem.
All of this goes both ways for men and women (minus the prostate bit!).

Oh - and never pull out your dick/ a plug/ anal beads/strap on or a prostate massager quickly.... always slow. It's much more pleasurable that way.

I do hope you have taken away some good knowledge from this post - If you are a woman thinking about trying anal sex for the first time, get your partner to read this post first, without proper communication he may not know what is right.
A lot of people dont know this stuff because people just dont talk about this stuff - it should be common knowledge - We wouldn't have this issue and everyone would be doing it if it was!
But that's why I'm putting this out there for ya. You now hold the key!!

The importance of Kegel exercising

I know most of you have heard that you should "do your kegels"
but do you know what it really means and why?

Doing your kegels when you remember for a minute maybe once
a week unfortunately does nothing - stopping your urine flow every time
you pee doesn't do much either and can cause bladder infections.

Like any other muscle group in your body, if you want results you need to
work them out. Now and then for a very short time will unfortunately
not do much, despite what you may have heard in the past.
First I will explain the function of this muscle group, how to work them
out and maintain them and what this prevents and then show some great products
that you can use to help with this important task.

You may have heard this muscle group called your "kegels" your "pelvic muscle"
or your "PC muscles". Whatever you call it, it is actually a layer of muscles, ligaments
and fibers - not just a single muscle. This layer works together to support your
pelvic organs and gives you control of your bladder.

This layer of muscles, ligaments and fibers are made of three main layers.
These layers preform specific functions.

The first (or bottom ) layer is around the opening of the vaginal canal and it helps with sexual function and also helps to control the bladder. During pregnancy and childbirth this muscle layer becomes weak and stretched. They also weaken with age and again during menopause.

The second (or middle) layer is a grouping of muscles that surround the urethral opening and to the bladder. This controls and holds up the bladder.

The third is a large and thin band of muscle that goes from the very front of your pelvis all the way around your sides and to the back, at the very bottom of the spine. This muscle acts as sort of a hammock, holding your pelvic organs in place and supporting them as well. It is also the main support for your pelvic floor.

The pelvic floor supports the weight of about 20 lbs of organs and needs frequent and targeted exercise
to keep it toned and strong.

As you can see, these are very important muscles to exercise - there are many reasons why.

Studies show that 1 in 4 Canadian women aged 20 - 35 (without children) have small leaks of urine when laughing, sneezing or jumping on a trampoline. After pregnancy and childbirth this issue worsens and the number is staggering. It is unfortunate because it is such an easy fix. So many women wear a pantiliner or pad and shrug it off calling it "normal" after childbirth.
In all actuality though, this can lead to bladder, vaginal and /or rectal prolapse (the muscles weaken and can no longer hold the organs in place - in some cases they will even fall right out of the vagina or anus). You know all of those commercials talking about vaginal mesh? That's what they use to use to hold it up after your muscles no longer can.

During pregnancy, your doctor (hopefully) tells you to do your kegels - unfortunately they dont usually delve further as to why, so many women dont ask or even bother.
When the muscles are strong it leads to an easier labor - if those muscles are unable to do the much needed pushing during labor it takes so much longer and also causes tearing or episiotomy (when the doctor has to cut you to let the baby out).

After childbirth (and even some physical sports), these muscles are stretched out and weakened. They will not fix themselves on their own - you must work them out to notice a difference. It is possible to even work them better than they were before pregnancy with hard work and dedication.

When you have a hysterectomy it is extremely important to work these muscles. Vaginal prolapse is common afterwards because your organs will move to fill the space where your uterus once was. This can be avoided by working your kegels for months before and afterwards (forever!) to strengthen this muscle group.

On the side of pleasure - The stronger this muscle group is and the more you are able to clench, the more you will be able to feel your orgasms. Many women just aren't able to have those mind blowing orgasms that they hear about from their friends or books, their orgasms are mediocre at best - their muscles are just too weak. Even if you think your orgasms are strong - after a few months of kegels you will be amazed at the difference!
Yes, they can be even stronger and more pleasurable for you and your partner!!

Building the pelvic muscles allow more blood flow to the vagina and clitoris which in turn increases sensitivity.
If you just aren't enjoying sex as much as you could be, working this group of muscles will help.

Some women are unable to squirt, even after trying the techniques and methods in the classes I hold (G Spot 101). You will not be able to do it if your muscles just aren't strong enough. Work them out and you may just be surprised at what you can achieve!

Depending on what type of kegel exerciser you choose, you can definitely use them as a sex toy as well!

We will start with the Luna Beads by Lelo.

As you can see, the Luna beads actually come with two sets of beads and a non-porous, medical grade strap to hold the two together and provide a pull cord for easy retrieval.
The pink set is a little bit lighter than the blue set (by 10 grams/ball) giving you a good gradual weight system to go with. Start with the two pink balls, work up to one of each, then finally both of the pink beads on the tether.
The Luna beads are duo-tone - which means they are hollow with a small silicone bead inside that bounces around as you move. Duo tone balls are quite pleasurable, especially when you go for a jog or to the gym! You can feel them bouncing around in the vagina and they stimulate the G Spot as well.
Luna beads are on the high end and are great for beginners and the experienced alike.
The great thing about the Luna Beads is that while you have them in (all day if you like!), the extra weight is automatically working out those muscles, they are clenching on their own by trying to keep them inside.
You literally can put them in and just go about your day - working on your kegels the entire time!

Next is my favorite....

The classic "Ben Wa" Balls.
Ben Wa balls come in many different brands and packaging but for the most part they are the same. I suggest against any painted or colored balls, you dont want anything chipping off inside when the coating disintagrates over time - just stick to any plain, stainless steel brands.
These balls are very heavy, solid steel. A lot of women are wary about them because they worry that they wont be able to remove them. The reality is though - your vagina is a dead end! Your cervix is closed and there is nowhere for them to go. They are so heavy in fact, that they aren't going to float up in there anyways - they will just stay right at the bottom and these are much more of a work out because you have to try to keep them in! I will give you a trick about getting anything out of your vagina - When you are laying down or standing up, you are long inside. As soon as you squat down, your vagina literally condenses - you can even feel your cervix (the end) if you stick your fingers in there while squatting. You then can bear down, giving a small push and fish it out with your finger no problemo! No need to panic, easy peasy.

With this type of kegel exerciser, more than half of all women will put them in and they will fall right back out. If this is the case for you, start with one of the balls only. If that one still falls out then start while sitting. You can put it in while watching a movie or online. Once you are confident then start using the one while walking around and just going about your day. Over time. depending on your muscle tone - work your way up to both of the balls and finally wear them out everywhere.
NEVER leave the house with them in until you are confident that you can hold them in while sneezing!!!
Trust me - I've heard many embarrassing Ben Wa stories from women that have jumped the gun being over confident because they havent given birth naturally. Just because you have never given birth naturally does not mean you have strong kegel muscles!

I like to warm them up first under running water. Something super fun you can do with this type of kegel exerciser - Have sex or use your vibrator with them in!! It is SO pleasurable for both partners! You can feel them rolling around inside, often really stimulating the g spot and he can feel them rolling around too. Another fun tip - pop them in to the freezer for a lil' icy play with no worry of melting!

If you do decide to get a pair of kegel balls connected with a string - do be sure the string is silicone coated.
There are many cheap kegel balls out there that are meant for one time use only. If the string isnt coated then it is a health risk, as you cannot properly wash them. Bacteria will get trapped and multiply in the string fibers - yuck!

It's nice that you can leave these smaller balls in and forget it though, working those muscles for half of the day.

The Magic Banana Kegel exerciser....

The Magic Banana is a kegel exerciser that you would use similarly to the Thigh Master.
You insert the looped end in to the vagina and squeeze it together repeatedly, working those PC muscle groups. Be sure when inserted that the loop end that slightly points upward is inserted facing the front of your body (facing the G Spot). Not only is this a kegel exerciser but you can use it to give great G Spot orgasms as well, providing you dont need vibration to do so.
The Magic Banana has a 10 year warranty, no mechanical parts to worry about and is made up of smooth, non toxic, FDA approved tubing. Inside the tubing is a specially designed resistance cord which offers core support to the Magic Banana, ensuring maximum benifit providing just the right amount of resistance for those muscle groups.

The Magic Banana is great and does the job well, however I personally would rather use something like the ben wa balls that I can use all day and people have no idea - rather than having something hanging out of my vagina and only able to use it as I hide away in privacy - but to each their own!

Another popular kegel exerciser:

Dr. Laura Berman has designed a host of medically designed & tested adult toys and sexual aides, including the "Isis" Beginner Pelvic Exerciser. This is a very effective tool for working the kegels but once again it is one of those units that hangs out and you can only do at home, in private. It can be added to foreplay though and used as a dildo as well.
How it works, is you add a small amount of water based lubricant and slide one side in to the vagina. Make sure you start laying down, gravity will help you out better that way when you are just starting to work on those muscles. Basically, you are just trying to grip and keep it inside without letting it fall out. It is smooth and a little bit weighty but this is the beginners version, so it isn't too heavy. Once you are confident in holding the Isis in while lying down, you can go to the next step - standing. Gravity is trying to pull it down and out but you are trying to grip it with your PC muscles, keeping it inside.

Dr. Laura Berman also has an advanced version:
Juno. Juno is used similarly to Isis, only Juno is weighted and much heavier. When beginning with the Juno exerciser you want to start with the biggest end inside. Start laying down as I mentioned above and work your way laying down trying to hold the smallest side in the vagina with the rest of the weight on the outside. Once you are eventually able to stand with the smallest end inside the vagina and able to hold all the heavy weight of this advanced toy then you should be proud - those would be some strong PC muscles!  ANYONE can achieve this! It just takes daily work, discipline and motivation. If your PC muscles were that strong do you have any idea how much more pleasurable your orgasms would be?

Before I go I just wanted to say how utterly dissapointed I am that doctors
dont explain the importance of keeping the PC muscles strong.
I'm also disappointed that the exercisers above are not available in all pharmacies either.
Because of this I think there is a stigma attached to it. So many people think that since you
can only get them in an "adult" store, they must only be for pleasure, I have even been asked,
"aren't those just for hookers? since they get so loose?"
That is just sad and unfortunately ignorant.

It is important for ALL women, especially those that have given birth vaginally,
play vigorous sports and anyone over the age of 30 to keep those muscles strong.
I can tell you that I most definitely wont be someone having to buy depends when I'm older!
I hope you wont either - work out those muscles ladies - Trust me,
you will thank yourself for it in the future and so will your partner!

Happy Kegelling!
